George GILES m 1879 Alice Jane JONES
1. George GILES b 1855 Richmond s/o Thomas GILES/Frances Anne OSBORNE [Vic 3567] George GILES died in Canterbury, New Zealand while contracting there with his sons. He is thought to have died of pneumonia following measles. Max Giles has found that his death was reported in the Creswick Advertiser in 1915 and the burial record has now been located. George GILES died 18 May 1915 aged 60 yrs, Farmer, buried 19 May 1915 Ashburton Cemetery (SW of Christchurch) Wesleyan Methodist Area 120, Plot 11. The celebrant was Rev W J Elliot. DEATH. GILES - On the 18th of May 1915 at Ashburton Hospital, New Zealand, Mr George Giles Snr, late of Creswick, beloved father of George, Alfred, Albert, Mrs W White, Newlyn and Miss Alice Giles, North Creswick, aged 62 years. George and Alice were first cousins, their mothers being OSBORNE sisters. On the marriage certificate are the signatures of Edward and Isabella MYLREA as witnesses. (Andree Wright) 3.
