Georgina WHITE m2. 13 Jun 1888 Melbourne, George Bambridge STOREY. This was stated in her father's estate papers and on the birth certificate of daughter Lilly, but no record has been found, and this marriage was not recorded on her death certificate or on her 'third' marriage in 1899.
George Bambridge STOREY was b abt 1851 Newcastle, England. On his daughter's birth certificate his occupation was surveyor.
In relation to her father's estate, Georgina STOREY of Derby Road Maryborough, Married woman, said on oath on 21 Jul 1894 at Ballarat, "that I am possessed of property in my own name consisting of a two roomed weatherboard house at Derby Road aforesaid held by me under Miners Right on one acre of Crown Lands and which I value at £125.
That I built such house with money left me by my first husband eight years ago.
That I was married to my present husband on the 13th day of June 1888, but I do not know where he is now residing and have not seen him for five years."
Within a few months of the birth of Lilly, George Bambridge STOREY deserted Georgina but she continued to live under the married name of STOREY for several years. It has been surmised that Lilly's father may have been a bigamist.
