Cause List
Constable John Corbett brought thirteen charges against persons residing on Crown Lands, for carrying on business on Creswick gold-fields without a license.
Seargeant Drummond stated that all the defendants had been duly warned, and had ample opportunity of taking out licenses.
The fines inflicted were as follows:-
Thomas GOAD, 10s, and 3s 6d costs;
Thos BUZZER, 10s, and 3s 6d costs;
Richard CLEMENTS, 10s, and 3s 6d costs;
Wm NEVE, 10s, and 3s 6d costs;
P LEHMAN, 10s, and 3s 6d costs;
AH LOVEY, 10s, and 3s 6d costs;
Amos SHOEMACK, 10s, and 3s 6d costs;
James STOKER, 1s, and 3s 6d costs (defendant had taken out a license at Ballarat);
- KIRK 10s, and 3s 6d costs;
- BARCLAY, 5s, and 3s 6d costs;
Anthony BATTERS, 10s, and 3s 6d costs;
Two other cases were dismissed, viz., Wm CARTHEW and Thomas ELLIS.
