In response to a number of inquiries about TREWEEK families in Ballarat I have compiled the following list. As far as I know they are unrelated to mine but we will eventually find some connections back in Cornwall.

TREWICK usually belongs to a family from Northumberland in England. Nine members of this family arrived in Victoria in Dec 1855 on the Chariot of Fame.

David Duncan sent me the 1856 marriage certificate for John TREWEEK and Elizabeth FLANNING (FANNING) who were Wesleyan Methodists married 'in the tent of Mr Treweek' on the Ballarat goldfields. John aged 23, Birthplace: Greensplat (just south of Fernsplat and both very near Gwennap), Cornwall s/o of John TREWEEK, Miner, and Eliza CORNISH.

Melora's husband William TREWEEK died on the voyage from the outbreak of measles and she re-married Robert GERRISH (GARISH) who was supposed to have also been on the Pakenham (although his name is not listed as a passenger). There is a marriage of Robert GARISH in 1849 Adelaide to Lerce WHEAT [SA Bk/Pg 65/185] but no chn found. Robert and Melora settled at Gillies Plains and Enfield, then Hay Valley near Nairn SA, then finally to WA.
Robert Hayward GERRISH chr 18 Jan 1818 Broughton Gifford, Wiltshire, England s/o Thomas GERRISH/Mary. Their son, also named Robert GARISH, was born 1853 Adelaide s/o Robert GARISH and Eleonora (transcription error) BRAY [SA Bk/Pg 4/252] and died in 1854 Adelaide s/o Robert and Meliora GARISH [SA Bk/Pg 151/398]. Meliora GARISH died 5 Jan 1886 Adelaide [SA Bk/Pg 151/398] and is buried in West Terrace Cemetery, Adelaide. Robert GARRISH "was very devoted to her" and died 28 Dec 1887 aged 74 Nairne [SA Bk/Pg 168/59]. Mrs Mary Margaret TREWEEK and her twin daughters Laura and Eliza TREWEEK gave evidence at an inquest held Thursday 16 Mar 1872 before a jury of twelve. The verdict was that their house at Kooringa was wilfully destroyed by fire. Mrs Treweek's husband (unnamed) had bought the lease on the house for £8 [digitised newspapers - trove.nla.gov.au]

John Antony TREWEEK, plaintiff, blacksmith, now of Kooringa and late of Hallet, had done work for the defendant and was attempting to recover the debt. In Feb 1878 TREWEEK was insolvent but had paid everybody and had had his books returned. Mentioned in the article was Mrs TREWEEK who was supplied with a pair of fowls and eggs. The verdict was for £1 6s 5d to be paid to the plaintiff. [digitised newspapers - trove.nla.gov.au]
