Birthplace: Cornwall, England, 65 yrs in Victoria, married at Creswick, aged 23 yrs to Harriet Ann TREWEEK. DEATHS
HUTCHINS - On the 9th October 1916, at his residence, 173 Upper Autumn-street, Geelong West, John, the beloved husband of the late Harriet Hutchins, formerly of Newlyn, aged 76 years.
The funeral will leave his late residence, Autumn-street, Geelong West, on Wednesday the 11th inst., at 2 p.m., for the New General Cemetery. Friends please accept this intimation.

The death has occurred of one of the earliest settlers in the Newlyn district, in the person of Mr John Hutchins, who passed away at Geelong, at the age of nearly 80 years. The deceased settled in the Newlyn district about 55 years ago, and removed to Geelong about 16 years prior to his death. He was a brother of Mrs Davies, of Bridge street, Creswick, and Mrs S Paull, of Ballarat.

Annotation: Joseph TREWEEK father of the above minor Harriet Ann TREWEEK signifies his consent to the marriage of his daughter above named with John HUTCHENS, in writing delivered to me previous to the solemnization of the marriage.
Both declared they were members of the Church of England, J Brown STEEL, Officiating Minister conducted the marriage according to the Rites of the Presbyterian Church of Victoria. Both signed in the presence of George COLE and Nanny ROW. [R/N 36 District of Creswick, cert 2803]
